The Meadow Lily Pattern

Last month, I published a new pattern, the Meadow Lily top. This tunic-length top is designed to be reminiscent of a peasant blouse, with a full bodice, a gathered neckline, empire waist, and flared "skirt." It can also be knit longer to make a dress rather than a top. It includes an option for long or short sleeves--long sleeves give it a "Renfest" flavor.

The pattern is designed for DK or light worsted weight yarn, at a gauge of 5.5 stitches per inch on US size 5 needles. It is knit from the top down, entirely in the round with no seaming. Instructions are included for either knit lace or crochet edging for the bottom edge.

The pattern can be purchased through Ravelry. If you are not a member of Ravelry, the "Buy now" button below will allow you to purchase the pattern without registering for Ravelry. If you are interested in selling items knit from this pattern, an inexpensive lifetime cottage license can be purchased through my cart at Their Own Knitted World, or arrangements can be made via email.

Cuddly Cables Sleep Sack pattern is now available!

I had a sweet customer recently who asked if I could do a sleep sack for her baby-to-be, and make it "like Twisty Trousers." She had some other specific requests, so I put everything together and worked up a "prototype":

After a few little tweaks, I knit the customer's yarn (lovely soft Malabrigo!) into this:

The cables on the back turn into the shoulder straps, and I just love how it looks:

As I worked on these, I wrote the pattern, and after some help from my test knitters, it's ready for purchase at Ravelry!

I will have the Seller's Version (an inexpensive unlimited lifetime license) available at Their Own Knitted World when we stock again.

The Braided Britches pattern is coming soon!

On Thursday, May 13 at 9pm EDT, the Braided Britches pattern will be available through Hyena Cart! This pattern was originally based on my Twisty Trousers pattern, although I have developed it further than simply replacing the cable pattern. The pattern is knit in alternating columns of stockinette and braided cables, producing pants that are less fitted (though less stretchy) than Twisty Trousers.

I will also have the pattern available at Ravelry within the next week or so. Licensing will be available for Braided Britches separate from but at the same cost as Twisty Trousers licensing.

This Thursday will also mark the first anniversary of Their Own Knitted World! We will be having a special all-scrappies stocking, and past and future featured fiber artists will be joining us to stock yarn. I am stocking a medium pair of boyish (or GN!) cargo shorties:

If these aren't the perfect pair for your little one, check out the amazing scrappies being offered by the rest of the knitters!

Thanks and updates

First of all, thank you to everyone who bought the Twisty Trousers pattern in January and February. I sent a $30 donation to Doctors Without Borders last week with the proceeds from those sales!

Capella is gearing up for a Grand Re-opening! We've beefed up our line-up to 17 vendors offering a wide variety of items--whatever you want, whatever you need, whatever you can imagine. We we be re-opening on April 19 at noon EDT. I have a few tricks up my sleeve and really need to get in gear to start working on the items I'll be stocking. Because of the big re-opening, I've cut back on custom orders for this month and next, but I hope to be taking on plenty of custom orders again in May.

Their Own Knitted World's April stocking with Mosaic Moon is going to be really exciting! We'll be offering something you truly haven't seen before. Morwenna is, as always, a dyeing genius.

I've been writing again...keep your eyes peeled for a new pattern (Braided Britches) that I hope to release in April!

Right now I'm finishing up a couple of custom orders, then a couple of things for my own kids for Easter and for my toddler's upcoming birthday. Then on to some cute new stuff for the Capella re-opening!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

There is plenty of exciting stuff in store for the new year here at Cabbages and Kings.

On January 14th at 9pm Eastern, Their Own Knitted World will be stocking with Selah. Check out all of the wonderful knits and gorgeous yarns that will be in stock!

I'll be stocking a semi-custom on French Moon, a YYMN spot for February, and this stunning Runaround Raglan:

Speaking of the Runaround Raglan, designed by Sarah Fama, I am proud to be a licensed knitter for this pattern now! I will occasionally be offering custom spots specifically for the sweater, and any other custom/semi-custom/YYMN spots can also be used to order the sweater. The sizing runs from a smallish toddler (12-18 months, 22" chest) up to about a size 8 (30" chest). Pricing starts at $50 for a YYMN in the smallest size. Add $5 for each size up, and add $10 for a cardigan rather than a pullover.

Finally, Capella will be stocking at noon Eastern time on January 18--I have a special collaboration planned with April of Pinkebody and will hopefully have a couple more small things to stock as well.
